The horizontal braces are usually used as handrail braces. If you place them next to a floor on which you only climb up or down, one at hip height will suffice. If you are working on a platform, two horizontal braces should be placed, one at hip height and one at knee height. The advantage of a double horizontal brace is that you can install a double guardrail in one operation.

Also, this double brace gives more strength than 2 separate braces because they are connected to each other.

CAUTION:

The claws of the brace are on the upright, which means that you click this double horizontal brace onto the vertical tube on the outside or on the inside of the scaffold. In a narrow scaffold, this is handy anyway, but in a wide 135cm rolling scaffold, you will then have to close the floor completely.
